The 100% sea salt seal guarantees its natural origin, sustainability, contribution to the conservation of traditional trades and its capacity to generate biodiversity, certified by AENOR.

How is sea salt produced?

The seawater enters the sea saltworks and passes through a circuit of ponds. Thanks to the action of the sun and the wind, the water concentrates and increases its salinity, until salt is formed in the ponds that we call crystallisers. When there is an accumulated layer of salt we harvest it, usually towards the end of summer.
In this link you can learn more about the production of sea salt.

Benefits

This distinctive, which you can find visible on the packages of sea salt, encompasses all the benefits of this process:

Natural Origin

The raw material we use to produce salt is seawater.

Sustainability

We use natural sources of energy, the heat of the sun and the wind, to evaporate the water and concentrate it until the sea salt crystals are produced.

Traditional Trades

Thanks to the activity of the sea saltworks, traditional trades such as the “aguatajos”, also known as “canalero” or “guardabalsas”, have been preserved.

Biodiversity

The production of sea salt generates a wetland that is home to hundreds of birds, fish, plants, crustaceans and micro-organisms.

Natural Landscapes

Some species that you can find in the natural landscapes that make up the sea salt flats include:

BIRDS

Flamingos, seagulls, eagles, harriers, cormorants, herons, stilts, ducks, plovers, terns, terns, avocets, sandpipers, spoonbills, glossy ibis…

FISHES
